About Me
Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to various caring roles, working within the NHS as a smoking cessation adviser and at the Citizens Advice Bureau, where I offered advice and represented individuals in legal matters. I then spent nearly two decades in a large secondary school, where my responsibilities varied. I worked in the exams department, served as a sixth-form attendance officer and careers adviser, and later took on the role of welfare and support officer. I found fulfilment in these positions, especially when I witnessed remarkable transformations in students’ well-being through mindfulness practices.
One particularly impactful experience involved a student who became increasingly anxious, leading to physical contortions of her limbs due to overwhelming negative thoughts that left her feeling immobilised. By introducing her to mindfulness techniques, I observed a miraculous improvement in her physical state and sense of calm almost instantaneously. This experience deepened my understanding of how our thoughts profoundly influence our physical health and how appropriate support can alleviate distressing symptoms.
Shortly after realising this, I encountered a series of unexpected challenges, including a lengthy recovery from eye surgery, which led to a significant shoulder injury. However, during later recovery and changed circumstances, the silver lining was that this period allowed me to reflect and pursue my interests. I aimed to better understand thought patterns and learn how techniques such as Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching can help provide substantial relief to those struggling with negative self-talk and outdated beliefs often imposed by others, frequently without awareness.
After extensive training, my approach evolved from merely providing information to empowering individuals through Hypnotherapy and other effective therapies learned. This transformation enables people to recognise unwanted behaviours and thought patterns, liberate themselves from limitations, and regain control over their mindset. As a result, they can recalibrate their thinking more effectively and accelerate their progress toward achieving optimal outcomes. For individuals, this process feels almost effortless, dynamic, and efficient compared to often lengthy traditional counselling methods, yet it leads to profound, life-changing results.
